METABIT BY EXCALIBUR
THE ADVENTURE BETWEEN THE REAL AND THE UNREAL 7–29 DECEMBER 2024
Three years after the success of their first Paris exhibition “NEW GAME+”, the EXCALIBUR collective returns for an exciting new chapter! This December, join them at Sato Gallery to discover METABIT: The Adventure Between the Real and the Virtual — an immersive exhibition that challenges the boundaries between the digital and physical worlds.
Inspired by the structure of a video game, METABIT unfolds across several “stages,” opening with a Prologue that introduces the METABIT universe, followed by five interactive stages, and closing with an Epilogue inviting everyone to reflect on this unique journey. Each room reveals a new facet of EXCALIBUR’s pixelated art, where the pixel — the fundamental unit of the digital image — moves across the interface between the real and the virtual.
Visitors will discover brand-new works, including sculptures, reimagined kakemono (kakejiku) scrolls, arcade machines specially designed for the exhibition, as well as digital creations reflecting the collective’s engagement with the world of web3. The collective will be present throughout the exhibition — a unique opportunity to meet and talk with the artists!
Don’t miss this immersive, multidisciplinary adventure at Sato Gallery (58 Rue Charlot, 3rd arrondissement) — an invitation to dive into EXCALIBUR’s philosophy and pixelated imagination. GAME ON!
