Saiko Otake

JAPAN . 1988

Saiko Otake’s work is marked by vibrant colour and bold composition, conveying a singular vision and a meticulous eye for detail.

Born in 1988 into an artistic household, she developed a taste for drawing and making things by hand from an early age, sharpening both her sensibility and her powers of expression.

In 2016 she left to study graphic design at Saint Martin’s in London, while pursuing photographic projects she continues to this day. Her path — shaped by time spent in Uwajima, Tokyo and London — feeds a practice that brings together drawing, painting, photography and collage.

Saiko Otake has shown her work in numerous well-received exhibitions in Tokyo, including at NaDiff, Akio Nagasawa Gallery Aoyama, the Parco Museum and Art Unlimited.
