EFRAIN VIVAS HATTORI

JAPAN . 1991

Born in Tokyo, the Venezuelan-Japanese artist Efrain Vivas Hattori (1991) grew up surrounded by architects, photographers and well-known artists. He was immersed above all in the world of architecture, through a father who often took him along to his office, where he would draw alongside him and the rest of the team.

Efrain’s work is distinguished by its shifting colour palettes. Sometimes vivid and bold, sometimes more earthen, his pieces are always accompanied by shapes and lines in deep black. The modernism he grew up with is clearly visible, but it blends easily with a streak of surrealism.
