Sato Gallery is delighted to host Saiko Otake’s first solo exhibition in Europe, titled “COLOURIDER,” opening January 25. The exhibition features new acrylic paintings as well as two photographs Saiko produced during her stay in London.

Convinced of the power and charm of colour, Saiko invites visitors to discover her unique colour combinations and her art of composition.

Fascinated by the (fluorescent) colour palettes of psychedelic posters and 1960s design, her work exudes an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and contemporary.

Saiko chooses her colour combinations, as well as the size and number of her works, based on the exhibition space. She sketches the composition in a notebook, then works on several canvases at once, carefully balancing the colours.

She often draws inspiration from feminine motifs, as women convey to her a sense of power and protection. Come discover this vibrant clash of feminine power, psychedelic aesthetics and modern art at our Rotterdam space!

The festive opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, January 25, from 4pm to 8pm, at 78 Insulindestraat, with sushi and drinks!
