Lemons, women, vases and cats; a concatenation of icons in bright colors sketched with the powerful and confident lines only he masters.
2021 is a special year for Takeru Amano. It marks the 20th anniversary of his career as a painter. 20 years ago he had his first solo exhibition. Not in Tokyo but in Beijing.
From June 9th until June 20th, we celebrate his artistic odyssey diving into another galaxy with an exhibition called 2021: A Space Odyssey.
For his 3rd solo exhibition in Paris, Takeru challenges the limits of gravity. If the Earth is floating in space, so are its characters. Lemons, women, vases and cats; a concatenation of icons in bright colors sketched with the powerful and confident lines only he masters. This time his icons are floating in the great nothingness. Acknowledging Takeru’s subjects, we are thrilled to present them from a different angle.
With the weightlessness, the body language changes. We find more explicit details. One might say that for his anniversary, Takeru Amano explores a daring and mostly an exciting direction. For this exhibition Takeru will bring works on canvas but also on paper.
Besides, we will present the first limited edition of neo silk screen prints, made in Tokyo. The prints will only be available online.
